Fitness, nutrition, and living a healthy lifestyle have always been a passion of mine for most of my adult life.
Always striving to eat healthy and do “the gym thing” four to five times a week. . .you know, weights, 45 minutes of cardio, and/or various classes, taking almost two hours each day. That’s A LOT of time!
I achieved a good level of fitness, but could never get past a certain point. For the many hours I was putting into my workouts, why wasn’t I getting stronger, why couldn’t I see my abs?? ( I know they’re under there somewhere! ) Why can’t I see more muscle definition??

These questions always nagged at me, it was frustrating at times, and I settled for the reason that you hear often. . .”a middle age person has to work harder and do more than a younger person to get fit and stay fit. Your metabolism slows with age, so just be happy where you’re at. You’ve had kids, so forget about those abs making any kind of appearance.”
So, I was caught in that cycle a lot of us women get into, which is working out hard and long in the gym, eating what you think is a healthy diet, but not getting the results you’re looking for.
Then I found CrossFit and realized that my body composition was changing, I was getting stronger, seeing more muscle definition, but best of all, I wasn’t spending an hour or two at the gym each day. My CrossFit workouts were only about 20 minutes long!
I then tweaked my eating to follow a modified paleo way of nutrition and my results were AWESOME! I had even more energy, lost more body fat, and those abs that I thought were retired, reappeared! My progress continues and I’ve put that whole “middle age” myth to rest.
Over the past 3 1/2 years, I’ve helped people lose close to a ton of weight through local weight loss challenges. These are people who had been unsuccessful in their previous attempts at weight loss. I helped them lose it and keep it off.
